Father’s Day Blueberry-Cherry Pie

Pies are beloved in my house. Every year I make a cherry pie for summer and a blueberry cranberry pie for winter. These are our favorites and I have tried and true recipes. Dorie’s Father’s Day Pie combines two of our favorite berries into one pie.

I am used to using pectin as a thickener in my fruit pies but Dorie uses flour. When I made Dorie’s Mixed Berry Pie from Everyday Dorie I had a looser than normal pie filling. Since I did not want to repeat that I used 3 tablespoons of flour to thicken the filling.

This pie came out perfect, no runny filling. We enjoyed this one and I was happy to have cherries but I don’t think this one is going to replace our favorite pie recipes. To see what others thought head over to Tuesdays with Dorie.

I don’t make many pies because of the extra work involved, but loved this. Your pie looks wonderful.
