Mary Dodd’s Maple-Bacon Chocolate Chip Cookies

This was one fine cookie indeed. Who would have thought of putting maple syrup in and on a chocolate chip cookie with bacon? Mary Dodd of course. My mother-in-law declared it the best cookie she ever ate. My husband, who sometimes complains there is too much chocolate, has been eagerly eating one every night. The size of these cookies warrants it a dessert. A whopping 1/4 cup of cookie dough is baked up crispy on the outside, soft in the center, and brown all over. My husband thought I over baked them but I told him maple syrup on top will brown when cooked, once he ate one all dissidence subsided. This was one fine cookie indeed.
