This week at I Heart Cooking Clubs we are cooking from this month’s featured ingredient; apples or pears. The recipe from Barefoot in Paris by Ina Garten is made with pears but I made mine with apples.
A clafouti is a new French dessert for me. Ina describes it as a pancake-like batter poured over fruit. It was really a custard dessert with no relation to a pancake. It was an easy dessert and tasty but you need to really like egg-base or custard desserts for this one.

I agree. I prefer my clafoutis to be more cake-y than egg-y. Haven't tried one with apples or pears so I may have to give it another go.

A clafoutis something between pancake and custard, I love it with cherries, blackberries and of course apples. This looks tasty

Whenever I need a good dessert, I'll go with clafoutis. I have to make an apple one; this looks good.

It looks beautiful! Like you, I think a clafouti is so easy and I love it for that reason, but I also agree that it can be a little too eggy at times, depending on the recipe.
