Coconut-Milk-Chocolate Marble Cake

We are down to the final few recipes in Baking with Dorie and surprisingly most of them contain chocolate. First up is this Coconut-Milk-Chocolate Marble Cake. Made in a 9-inch loaf pan, this was easy to put together. The cake batter is divided in half with one part flavored with milk chocolate and the other with coconut. The cake stayed moist from the stick of butter and full fat coconut milk. I baked mine for the full 68 minutes, always worry about a soggy center, but I think it came out perfect. I used a parchment paper sling for easy removal and that worked like a charm. This dessert did not have pizzaz like our most recent bakes but it was a fine dessert. My husband mentioned how spoiled he is with our recent bakes. To see what others thought head over to Tuesdays with Dorie.

  1. Looks nice. I did wonder how we managed to leave so many chocolate recipes behind. šŸ™‚

  2. I enjoyed this but you’re right – it lacked pizzazz. Still, a homemade piece of cake is a nice thing to have, even if it’s plain!

The marbling looks great! It was a nice cake with a bit of texture from the coconut.
