Meringue Snackers

Tuesdays with Dorie, Baking with Dorie edition.

Meringue Snackers are the dessert of the week and the basis of other recipes we have baked. Little Marvels and Classic Ice Cream Vacherin were particular favorites in our house. I chose to make my meringue snackers into Pavlovas, I was inspired by the golden berries that turned up in my grocery store. I have never eaten a golden berry before so I was eager to try.

The recipe makes 6 Pavlovas. I took the easy route and spooned them. The first 3 we ate with whipped cream and berries. We all enjoyed this version especially the golden berries.

The remaining 3 got a serving of limoncello ice cream. I saved the yolks from the recipe and made ice cream. We enjoyed this version too.

Pavlovas are kind of hard to eat and messy but we enjoyed trying something new. To see what others thought head over to Tuesdays with Dorie.
