One of my sister’s cooking philosophies is to double the cheese in any recipe. This recipe made me think of that, it is jam packed with ingredients including three kinds of cheese. I went with the Italian version since I had 2 of the 3 cheeses. Other ingredients include chives, thyme, roasted bell pepper and ham.

This smelled so good baking in the oven. My husband and I couldn’t wait to have a piece, we barely waited for it to cool off. This savory loaf cake was so delicious especially with the crispy bits on top. I had it for breakfast the next day with coffee which was equally as good. This may be one of my new favorite savory dishes of Dorie’s books. To see what others thought, head over to Tuesdays with Dorie.
Oh wow, looks so good! Mine is cooling on the rack as I type this. I wonder how long we will be able to wait? I had the same idea of taking a picture of all the add-ins. They look so beautiful together.

Ha ha – love that you and your hubby ate it warm. We totally did the same and were dying with the aroma in the house. Heck my kitchen smelled insane from the moment I browned the pancetta lol !! So glad you enjoyed it – I am definitely going to keep this recipe and play around with other combos.

sometimes I’m a bit bummed to be making a cake that isn’t sweet, but this one was great. I like your sister’s cheese philosophy.
