Dorie’s idea to put clam chowder into a pie was spot on. We enjoyed this decadent dinner.

This pie is packed full of ingredients: clams, bacon, celery, red bell pepper, garlic, peas and corn, scallions, dill, heavy cream, Old Bay Seasoning, Worcestershire sauce, Tabasco and eggs. I made a few substitutions, I did not have Old Bay so I just used some paprika. I also used Sriracha sauce for the Tabasco. And don’t forget the topping, those yummy oyster crackers bathed in butter and baked to perfection.

I used all the heavy cream mixture which fit nicely in the pie. It baked up beautifully and I did need to tent it to prevent the crackers from burning.

I served this with a side salad which made a nice meal. We are fans of Dorie’s Clam Chowder soup and we are happy to add this to the list. Definitely a make again recipe. To see what others thought head over to Tuesdays with Dorie.
Oh yaaay! I am looking forward to making this one. We love clam chowder…although I am more of a Manhattan style myself haha. Glad this was a winner!!
