The Tuesdays with Dorie group made macarons two years ago from Baking Chez Moi. This recipe was a complete success for me and I looked forward to making them again. True to my statement I wanted to make these again and try a different filling. In reading the recipe in Dorie’s Cookies I noticed Mardi Michels name in the cookie and cream cheese filling recipes, I was all in to try our fellow baker’s recipe.
I did not have any troubles making the macarons or cream cheese filling but my color work needs some help. I don’t have a lot of experience with food dye. I followed the recipe on my food dye bottles for purple but clearly it was not enough. Oh, well something to work on with my next batch.

The reviews. I have enjoyed both fillings, salted caramel and cream cheese but my husband clearly favored the cream cheese. Mardi you have a new fan. Thank you for the recipe.
YAY! These are pretty! And for the colour, I like the powders – they are much brighter than liquids most of the time!

In my opinion, these macarons are lovely all around, including the color. I’d call it blush or barely pink, which I like a lot.

i agree with the others– the color is lovely! when they are too bright, i find the artificial-ness a little off-putting.
