Dorie’s Cookies

A chocolate and almond lovers dream cookie. These cookies get their almond flavor from almond flour and slivered almonds. The chocolate flavor comes from some cocoa powder and semisweet chocolate. In the instructions, Dorie asks that you press the confectioners’ sugar, almond flour, cocoa, cinnamon and salt through a fine strainer. I had trouble getting my almond flour to go through so I just added it. My cookies don’t have the sheen that Dorie’s do so I am not sure if it is related to adding the almond flour straight. Dorie describes these as “crisp on the outside and chewy on the inside.” I think that describes these cookies perfectly. To see what others did head over to Tuesdays with Dorie.
