Yotam Ottolengi is our featured chef this week at I Heart Cooking Clubs. I handed my husband Jerusalem A Cookbook and told him to pick a recipe. He asked if it could be one we have made before and I said yes. My poor husband he gets a dish he likes and chances are he won’t see it for a while since I am always cooking new things.
To my surprise my husband picked a new recipe Panfried Sea Bass with Harissa and Rose. First of all my husband made this recipe for me on Mother’s Day for dinner and it was much appreciated. We had to make a substitution for the sea bass and we chose trout. My husband made the harissa from scratch using the recipe in the cookbook. We also skipped the rose water and dried edible rose petals. This turned out to be a very flavorful fish dish, Yotam Ottolenghi’s recipes never disappoint. It was deemed “make again” but chances are it won’t. This recipe is available at Epicurious.

Ha! I had to laugh. The same thing happens in our house. We cook and blog a certain recipe, love it, but alas, it gets filed as we're always trying new stuff! In fact, I stopped blogging so frequently so that we could return to some of the 'best of' blogged posts to make again awesome food! This sea bass recipe looks perfect for our New England summertime! Great choice for this week!

LOL, I am the same – I make something but even if I like it, it may never get made again. This dish sounds very tasty.

I've had this recipe flagged for some time – even bought the rose petals for it – so I'm happy to hear that it's delicious.

I enjoyed reading your post because we rarely have the same thing twice at my house;) Sometimes my kids beg me for boxed food so they can eat what everyone else eats!So nice of your husband to look through the book and chose a recipe with you. I'm sure it makes things much more fun! This looks like a delicious and very special meal:)

I make my husband laugh sometimes when he gets to the table, he never knows what will be facing him. This week it was a small pumpkin, sitting nicely on a serving dish, stuffed with a left-over filling made from the previous night's dinner.

I have no idea what harissa is and where to get rose petals. Lol.

Yum! I keep meaning to make this recipe–I love harissa and have a bottle of rose water in the pantry (but I am happy to hear it is still delicious without the rosewater and petals too.) 😉
