We love buckwheat and normally enjoy it in pancakes. This is my first go at a buckwheat butter cake. I guess we are Breton’s too since I only buy salted butter, that is what my husband likes. The two big ingredients here are butter 10 tablespoons and eggs a total of 4. The flavors are the buckwheat, nutmeg and salt. Fleur de sel is both in and on the cake, I used my stock I bought in Paris last year. We enjoyed this cake which leans more savory than sweet. My husband enjoyed it with some orange marmalade.
