These slice and bake cookies are a welcome addition to the shortbread category. I went with the all chocolate variety since I would be sharing these with my son with his nut allergy. The first batch I baked I followed the time on the directions which was 22 minutes. They did not caramelize much so on the next batch I cooked them longer at 25 minutes to get some color. These were a hit with my son and his roommates, they actually asked for the recipe! To see what others thought head over to Tuesdays with Dorie.
Pyramid of cookies! I love it!

Picture perfect! Mine only took 20 minutes to get colouring and 22 was definitely too much – these were ones I needed to stay close to the (unfamiliar) oven for!

Oh, those look so perfect…and they work for architecture as well!! I finally got to this recipe and made and posted them today so Mark could have them for ballgame snacks, he was very appreciative as when I was down with Covid so long there was not much coming out of my kitchen! Your cookies are beautiful and so fun to hear about your son and his friends enjoying them.
