Parisian Custard Tart

Baking with Dorie page 292.

This was an easy one to bake having just got back from vacation. It included simple ingredients and not any complicated instructions. I was able to make a day in advance to chill overnight. I rolled out the puff pastry into a 12-inch rectangle then put a 12-inch round plate on top to get a 12-inch circle. This was as hard as the directions got for me.

This was enjoyed by all. We served it with strawberries on the side. My tart did not bake up firm enough to eat in hand as Dorie suggested but that was okay by us. To see what others thought head over to Tuesdays with Dorie.

Gorgeous sunsets in Puerto Vallarta. This is the roof top restaurant in our hotel. We ate there twice for the fabulous views.

Road-side churros, they were very good.

Your top is so perfect…I chickened out as I was afraid to go very far with it…yours so beautifully done. I love seeing you on vacation, what a nice photo of you there enjoying your time. Kudos to you and Mardi for coming back and baking right away…what stars you both are…I would be trying to extend vacation as long as possible. :-). Beautiful tart.

  4. Welcome back! Looks like a fabulous time with fabulous food and sunsets! This was a nice one to come back to as it was pretty straightforward. I agree…the hardest part was getting the puff pastry round. Yours looks great and I am glad it was a winner.
