Strawberry Tart

This tart is supposed to have a bottom layer of poached rhubarb but after going to three grocery stores I ended up empty handed, so strawberry tart it is. This was a lovely summer dessert with strawberry flavor throughout. The strawberries I purchased were quite large so I only needed a few to cover the top. Since I did not make the simple syrup due to lack of rhubarb, I brushed some strawberry jam on my strawberries. This tart was well received by all my guests. A note on the picture, I left the tart in the tin as I was afraid it would break apart as I had cracked my crust. Luckily the pudding kept everything glued together but I forgot to take another picture without the tin. To see what others thought head over to Tuesdays with Dorie.

I love the shine that the jam gave the strawberries. The same thing happened to my crust. Thank goodness for the cream holding it all together!

  2. That reminds me: I forgot to take mine out from the tin when I took the pictures. Oh well, can’t be too perfect! The glaze looks wonderful on the strawberries.
