Goat Cheese Bites

Baking with Dorie page 302.

My husband does not like blue cheese so I knew I was going to have to make a substitution. I asked one of our good friends his take on blue cheese and he sent me this response,

“Cheese is white, yellow, orange or similar shade but never blue.”

Blue Cheese Bites turned into Goat Cheese Bites and dates were substituted for the figs so basically a new recipe.

These were tasty, goat cheese and dates merry well together. My family could not decide whether these were sweet or savory, I am guessing the saltiness of blue cheese may have cemented the savory component. The olive oil base made these a rich bite. As Dorie stated they are best the day they are made. To see what others thought head over to Tuesday with Dorie.

  1. I like what you’ve come up instead of blue cheese. Great idea for the goat cheese and dates combo.
