This recipe reminded me of another Dorie cookie which can be broken into pieces at the table, Salted Butter Break-Ups from Around My French Table. Given the times in which we live in, these crack-ups probably need to stay home for family only. I thought this was an easy recipe and used one piece of equipment, food processor and I did not have to bring any ingredients to room temperature so no planning ahead. I do not have fleur de sel so I skipped that part but I did add the sanding sugar. I thought these were very tasty with the crispy bits around the edges.
You’re right about these being for family only. I took mandelbrot to work bagged in serves for one. Your crack ups look good.

Loved the ease of these – and the taste! Wasn’t sure how thick these should be – I made 1/2 the recipe and used a 1/4 sheet pan and the dough nearly filled the pan. Not sure I would want them thicker than they ended up – I had some thicker than others, they were a bit “rough”. Yours look perfect and perfectly even!

These were really tasty! We loved the fleur de sel addition so if you make them again I would suggest adding it…great sweet and salty combo!

sounds like bits and pieces of these would be tasty with fruit or ice cream (or both). look forward to making them.
