Martine’s Lemon and Apple Tart

I am posting late this week, Thursdays with Dorie?, because I wanted to make this tart for my anniversary which happens to be today. This monumental year of 2020 is having me celebrate all kinds of milestones at home. I can also see my planned vacation, a cruise, vanish before my eyes. But on to the sweet stuff…

Martine’s Lemon and Apple Tart, is a mash-up of fruits. I don’t think I have ever seen these fruits pared up before. Members likened this to a lemon bar which sounds delicious to me. My son said, “that looks good”, while I was making it and after it came out of the oven my husband said “oh hash browns”, which someone else said in this group. This tart is a lemon base; lemon rind, lemon juice, sugar and eggs. The surprise ingredient is the grated apple, I used Fuji and only put in two. I just realized upon typing this, that I forgot to put in the four tablespoons of melted butter in the filling, opps! Despite my error it came out perfect. If I hadn’t said anything no one would know that I skipped an ingredient. It was delicious and yes it tastes like a lemon bar. To see what others made head over to Tuesdays with Dorie.
