Dorie’s mix-it-up citrus loaf cake can be made with any citrus fruit, I had lemons on hand so lemon it is.
Even though Dorie states it “bakes to a deeply golden brown”, I think I baked mine 5 minutes too long but I just called it extra caramelization. This loaf cake had citrus flavor with the zest of 3 lemons and orange marmalade for glazing. It stored well and we enjoyed it for a few days. We didn’t notice a difference in taste from the first day of baking.
I did not have time to source Dorie’s recommendation for Korean honey-citron marmalade but I will check out our local Asian market. We are also heading to Asia on vacation in 2027 so may have to buy some while we are in South Korea.
To see what others thought head over to Tuesdays with Dorie.
Love the colour of yours with just lemons! Mine went a deeper colour with the clementine juice and zest!

That is a lovely looking loaf and I know how delicious it was too ! My hubby was a big fan and I was thrilled that it was frankly pretty easy. The marmalade was seriously a fun find. I went to a local Asian market which was huge, but did not carry this item. I ended up getting a bunch of other fun desserts and asian treats relating to Lunar New Year (timing is everything) and brought a dessert board over to my in laws to share. Then I bought the marmalade at Walmart online LOL !! Lucky you with an upcoming trip – wow.
